Whether you’re looking for grammatical help or the finishing touches, every project is customized to your needs. Struggling with something specific? Not sure how to clean up your punctuation? Tell me what you need help with and I will do the rest!

The details.

The basic rate comes from my ability to proofread five pages of content per hour and charging $15 per hour. This allows me to spend quality time reviewing the writing, going from word to word, and carefully making correction notes as needed. Once you send me a copy of the writing, I can adjust the rate to better fit your needs with the project.

My preferred method of proofreading is through Microsoft Word and using the Track Changes feature. I have found that this is the simplest way to make notes on your writing without compromising the integrity of the document. Then you get to choose which corrections you want to keep or disregard. You get the final say on what goes into your writing!

Every new project will be based on word count, the deadline, and choice of style guide. Allow 3-4 days for writing that is 500 words or less, 5-7 days for 1000 words, and up to 2 weeks for longer projects.

Regardless of the length of the writing, you will be billed based on the total time spent on proofreading the project.

How It Works

First, send me an email with a Word Doc of your writing.

Second, tell me when your deadline is and which style guide you are using.

Third, tell me what you would like me to look for specifically. If not, I will still go through the writing word for word to catch any and all errors I see.

Style Guides

The default style guide I use is the Chicago Manual of Style by the University of Chicago. I also use APA and MLA for academic and research writing.

Payment

Once you are satisfied with the feedback and proofreading changes, I will give you the total time spent on the writing and the total cost. You can pay this total via Venmo, PayPal, or a different method of payment.

Let’s review…

Proofreaders look exclusively at the grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

They are the final set of eyes on the writing and are responsible for catching the mistakes that slipped through the initial writing and editing phases. They adhere to the rules of the style guide, as well as any in-house style requirements assigned by the writer or publisher.
