Hi, I’m Rachel!
I am a proofreader and military spouse, currently living in Japan! It is such a joy to share my love of words with people looking to polish their written work.
Tell me about your next project!

What is proofreading
You have finished writing and you are ready to be done with it.
You love the content, but not so sure that the grammar is good or makes sense.
You’ve been staring at the screen with the same phrases and sentence structures on a constant loop.
This is the moment that you decide you need a fresh set of eyes to catch any of the mistakes that slipped past your intense editing.
This is where I come in.
Proofreading is one of the final steps in the writing process before publishing the work.
A proofreader will go through the document, word by word, looking for any inconsistencies in grammar, spelling, or punctuation. It’s my job to comb through your writing and make notes in the margins that improve the clarity and integrity of your work.
When you start a new project with me, we will talk through the needs of your writing, set a deadline, and create a customized pay rate that best fits the project. That’s it! Any notes that I give will be at your discretion to accept or reject. You have the final say in your writing!
WHAT IT’S NOT
Proofreading is NOT
- Changing sentence structure
- Reordering paragraphs
- Editing dialogue or quotes
- Making significant changes to the writing
Realize that you need an editor, not a proofreader?
No problem! There are lots of freelance editors and copyeditors that would love to help you with these areas. Check them out first!
